ROSWELL, GA — Construction crews restarted work in January on the $100 million mixed-use Southern Post project in Roswell, reported the Atlanta-Journal Constitution.
The firm S.J. Collins Enterprises originally partnered with Armada Hoffler for the development, but left the project last fall, reported the AJC. In 2019, the firm purchased the land for the project from the Roswell Downtown Development Authority for $5 million.
It is being built at the former Roswell Plaza shopping center. Southern Post is expected to be fully completed by the end of 2023, according to the developer’s website.
Virginia-based Armada Hoffler Properties is developing Southern Post in Roswell’s historic downtown.
Plans for the project include 128 luxury apartment units, nine townhomes, 95,000-square-feet of creative loft office space, 40,000-square-feet of pedestrian-friendly retail and structured parking, according to the website.
Estimated development and construction costs for the project are expected to total approximately $110 million.
“We are excited to move forward with this transformative project in the city of Roswell,” said Louis Haddad, President & CEO of Armada Hoffler Properties in a news release. “Southern Post will be a true mixed-use development on an intimate scale that brings together the synergies of the urban lifestyle and a close-knit community.”
